Full description on verso of the box. Pen inscription on the box inside. Circa 1950s.
From the inside view:
Center mechanism (with spike/pin): This is the blade-breaking device. You would insert a used double-edge blade and press/rotate so it snaps safely into pieces.
Curved wire spring (right side): This acts as a retaining spring, guiding broken blade pieces down into the storage compartment.
Left chamber (hollow section): This is where the used/broken blades accumulate, keeping them safely contained.
Slot/opening (outer edge):
Used to insert blades for disposal.
